My name is Dan Menard, and this is my blog.

I’m originally from Ottawa, Canada, now living in San Jose, California. I work for Netflix as a Senior TV UI Engineer. That means I work on the Netflix apps for game consoles like the PS3 and Wii, and generally anything else you plug into your TV.

This blog is where I write about web development. Sometimes it’s news and new technologies, sometimes it’s best practices and how to build better software. It’s my outlet for cool things I’ve learned that I think others can benefit from.

When I’m not writing Javascript (or writing about writing Javascript), you can usually find me golfing or snowboarding or sitting on my couch. I also speak at conferences every now and then — I’ve done MIX, SenchaCon, and OSCON.
